I support human beings to * Do the Thing * that only they can do, and to do it will a whole lot of beauty and grace.

My clients are out there at the delicate edge, moving the tendrils of culture and conversation into new territories, turning a few things upside down, bringing some things into the light, leaving other things behind. They are asking important questions and putting footsteps down on their unique teaching path.

In that process, these folks often confront the embodied experiences that tell them they are too much, too weird, too radical. Or, alternatively, they sense that they're not enough, not finished, not ready. I provide accompaniment and dialogue as they cultivate their message and mastery and move their work more fully into the world.

I practice (and teach) integrative trauma work and trauma-informed coaching. The work is informed by a radically and rigorously integrative lens.

I am (as far as I know) the only licensed psychotherapist, licensed acupuncturist, and anthropologist on the planet. I see trauma through many lenses.

Why is this even important? Several reasons.

Trauma is a body-mind-culture phenomenon.  We live in nested in systems of intergenerational, social, and ecological trauma. We experience it in and through our bodies, our relationships, and our communities. We make meaning from and about it - individually and collectively. 

So, we need a deep and multi-dimensional approach to trauma work. The more two-dimensional our understanding of trauma, the more likely we are to cause harm.

Survivors of trauma are always coming up against the limits of well-intentioned people - including coaches and therapists - who think they understand what’s going on. If we can cultivate a radically holistic and nuanced understanding of trauma (as well as the embodied ways of being that go with it) we not only provide the best container for survivors to do their great work, but we also stand out as leaders in this conversation.

Right now, the online world is an explosion of amazing courses. And we are learning (or we know already) that teaching is more than delivering content and engaging our audience. What if teaching and learning involved witnessing and nourishing each person’s unique, embodied knowing? When it comes to true learning as well as truly trauma-informed practice, this is essential.
